With a larger Gen-2 filter bin and filters, the Dolphin Quantum stands out from its peers. This 2024 Dolphin Proline model is a fantastic cleaner, but even better value.
With over 400 square inches of filter capacity, the Quantum excels at vacuuming a swimming pool. With efficient dual motors, the Quantum is not only more efficient than traditional pressure-side and suction-side cleaners but also more powerful. As it vacuums over 4000 gallons per hour, the Dolphin Quantum picked up anything in its way.
After over a month of testing, we are happy to shareour thoughts on the 2024 Dolphin Quantum robotic pool cleaner.
When it comes to pool coverage, the Dolphin Quantum is an expert. It can clean all of your pool from the floor to the waterline, and there are two key pieces to its great pool coverage that I would like to mention: its second scrubbing brush and Powerjet 3D mobility. A second scrubbing brush simply means double the scrubbing power, and you can never go wrong with more power.
While watching the Quantum navigate my pool efficiently thanks to Smart Nav 2.0, I noticed the first brush would loosen up the debris, so the second brush could sweep it up and into the robot, leaving a clean streak behind it. The really impressive piece of the Quantum's coverage is its waterline cleaning thanks to its Powerjet 3D mobility.
Other mid to top tier robots, such as the CC Plus, simply cannot stay at the waterline and clean it, which is why I was happy to see the Quantum could. That is a bit of an understatement though, as the Quantum was super impressive at the waterline. These little ports on the side of the robot push water out of them to help the Quantum stay at and move along the waterline with ease.
This level of waterline ability is what I expect out of top tier units, such as the Dolphin Premier and Sigma, so I was super happy to see it here. For these reasons, I have to give the Quantum a 5/5 in the pool coverage category.
Next, let's look at filtration ability. The Dolphin Quantum comes with a large filter basket and two filter types: Standard Fine and NanoFilters.
I loved to see both filters here, as it makes the Quantum a great value in comparison to other Maytronics units at this price point. If you want the easiest pool cleaning experience possible, extra filter options are a must.
The standard fine filter is great for your average clean, as it filters your water and has enough room for larger debris. The Nanofilter, on the other hand, has a ton of room for larger debris but does a better job filtering out all the microscopic particles that cloud your pool. A lot of robotic pool cleaners only include the single standard filter option, which can't clear up cloudy pool water, which means extra work on your part.
With the Quantum, all the extra work you have to do is put in the Nanofilters to fix cloudy pool water. Since the Quantum includes an ultrafine filter type at a lower price, I have to give it a 5/5 in filtration ability as well.
Finally, let's look at the feature set and warranty of the Dolphin Quantum. The Quantum comes with a programmable power supply and a two-year warranty, making it an easy-to-use and safe purchase. Programmable power supplies are a must if you want an easy-to-maintain pool robot, as they let you schedule the bot to clean every day, every two days, or every three days. This means you don't have to walk outside and start the robot every time you want it to clean, simply set the schedule once a week, and it will do the rest for you.
The Dolphin Quantum's two-year warranty is also super nice to see, as it shows faith in the robot's durability and is backed by Maytronics. With a two-year warranty, I know I won't have to pay for any repairs or replacements any time soon, and Maytronics is super easy to work with if anything ever happens. Of course, it would have been great to see a three-year warranty, like those found with the Dolphin Premier and Sigma, but this is a less expensive unit, so I understand why it is just a solid two years. When it comes to feature set and warranty, I give the Quantum a 4.5/5.
Once all the scores are totaled up, the Dolphin Quantum gets a 9.7/10. This score puts it right up there with some of the top-tier robotic pool cleaners on the market today, all at a lower price. You can't go wrong with the Quantum and its Powerjet 3D mobility, two filter options, and programmable timer. It is a super solid cleaner all around and will leave you with basically no pool maintenance to do.
